NDC is a scam, let’s unite for Bawumia – Afenyo-Markin

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has sharply criticised the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing it of failing to deliver on its promises to Ghanaians since winning the 2024 elections.
He made the remarks while addressing NPP supporters in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region on Saturday, June 20, where he also called for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
The Effutu MP urged party members to put aside their differences and work together to strengthen the NPP’s grassroots structures.
“We should ask ourselves, is the NDC delivering on its promises? The NDC is a complete scam. They are 419 people. They come to you and lie to you and when you give them power, they do nothing,” he said.
He warned that the NDC could only succeed if the NPP remained divided, and appealed to supporters in the Western North Region to unite behind the party’s flagbearer and leadership.
“So today, in Sefwi-Wiawso, I speak to the entire region on behalf of the flagbearer, on behalf of Parliament, on behalf of all the elders of the party and plead with you to unite,” he added.
Beyond criticising the government, Mr Afenyo-Markin encouraged supporters to stay informed about national issues and actively engage in discussions on governance within their communities.
He stressed that a united and focused opposition would be better placed to hold the NDC government accountable and mount a strong challenge in the next elections.
His message emphasised solidarity, urging NPP members to remain disciplined and avoid internal conflicts that could undermine the party’s prospects in 2028.
