Kristo Asafo Confirms Nana Kwadwo Safo Akonfena Duly Installed….Pledges Cooperation With Police

The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has reaffirmed that Nana Kwadwo Safo Akonfena was duly installed in accordance with the traditions, customs and established leadership structures of the mission, dismissing any claims suggesting irregularities surrounding his position.
The leadership of the mission said the installation process was conducted lawfully and remains recognized by the appropriate authorities within the organization.
The mission further expressed its commitment to maintaining peace, unity and stability among its members, stressing that it would continue to engage all stakeholders through lawful and transparent means.
According to the leadership, the institution remains focused on its spiritual, social and developmental objectives and will not allow misunderstandings to derail its mission and activities.
Kristo Asafo also pledged its full cooperation with the Ghana Police Service and other state security agencies in any investigations or processes related to the matter.
The mission emphasized its respect for the rule of law and called on members and the general public to remain calm while allowing due process to take its course, assuring that it remains committed to preserving harmony within the organization and the wider society.

PRESS STATEMENT
CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS
The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana (KAMOG) wishes to address and correct the misleading reports surrounding the alleged shooting incident at the residence of its newly installed Leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.
This statement is intended to dispel the deliberate misinformation, fabrication, and distortion of facts that have flooded the airwaves and various media platforms following the installation of the new Leader. The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana expresses grave concern over the proliferation of inaccurate reports, sensational claims, and baseless alleŒations that have the potential to misinform the public, damage reputations, and generate unwarranted tension within the Mission and among the general public.
1. On Sunday June 21, 2026, the Church under the auspices of the National Council of Elders and the Head Office orŒanized a religious event to introduce the chosen Leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena as the next Leader of the church to succeed his late father Apostle Prof. Emeritus Kwadwo Safo Kantanka who was the Founder and Leader of the church.
2. The leadership of the church wishes to inform the general public that, they followed all due process as sanctioned by the Constitution of the Church, and also undertook extensive consultations as mandated by the constitution.
3. The Church wishes to emphasize that, the said event went on successfully as planned and Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena was introduced and installed according to the Constitution of the church.
4. After the successful climax of the event, the newly installed leader left his residence
to attend to another important assignment. After he left, a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Vehicle appeared and hit the metallic gate to the event premises 3 times in the full glare of some church stakeholders who had not dispersed at the time.

5. After the vehicle drove off from the scene, the church leadership started hearing from the airwaves and social media that Hon. Adwoa Safo, daughter of the late Founder and Leader has allegedly been shot by some unknown security personnel.
6. We wish to categorically state and without any contradiction and in the name of the Living God we worship and believe in, that our newly installed leader Nana Kwadwo  Safo Akofena who was not physically present at his house the moment the incident occurred and did not either personally shot or instruct anybody else to shoot his own blood sister Hon. Adwoa Safo.
7. The National Police Service invited Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena after this alleged shooting incident and he personally reported to the police with his lawyers on Monday June 22, 2026.
8. The police took a statement from him and decided to keep him after which he was arraigned before court and granted bail on Tuesday June 23, at Adenta Circuit Court One (1).
9. We also wish to further explain to the General public that the Seven (7) security guards who were arrested and from whom some arms and ammunitions were retrieved from our registered private security company Kantanka Security Services Limited (KSS) with a valid license which was legally operating until the license was suspended by the Honorable Minister for the Interior in a statement on Monday June 2022, 2026, but not a vigilante group as been alleged by some sections of the media.
10. The leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, the National Council of Elders, the National Executive Council (NEC), and all the affiliated bodies reiterate that we will cooperate with the police service and all the National Security apparatus in their investigations to arrive at the truth behind this unfortunate incident that has the potential to damage the esteemed image and reputation of the noble church which has not been noted or associated with any violence since its establishment about fifty five years now.
11. The church leadership wishes to assure our teeming congregation both home and abroad as well as the general public that Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena has been duly installed as the new leader of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana (KAMOG), and hence officially known and addressed as such. We wish to further state that a religious entity, the church is exploring all dispute resolution mechanisms enshrined in the churches constitution and structures to reach an amicable settlement of the issue since it is a religious and family feud.
12. Finally, the leadership and the entire congregation wishes to congratulate him once again on his installation and pledge to support and work with him to advance the mission and vision of his father and protect and solidify his invaluable legacy.
