NADMO Demolishes Multi-Storey Building in Osu After Partial Collapse

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has demolished a multi-storey building in Osu following a partial collapse that raised serious fears of total structural failure.
The demolition exercise was carried out on Monday, June 8, with support from officials of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly. The over 50-year-old structure was declared unsafe and a major threat to public safety after assessment by engineers and emergency officials.
Excavators were brought in to pull down the weakened building to avert any further collapse and protect lives and property, especially given its location in the bustling commercial area of Osu.
The partial collapse occurred on Sunday, triggering panic among residents and business owners in the vicinity and prompting an immediate emergency response from authorities.
