Adu-Boahene trial: witness says GHC7.2m BNC transfers reflected in National Security Coordinator’s Fidelity account

Mildred Donkor, the third prosecution witness in the ongoing high-profile National Security trial, has told the Accra High Court that an amount of GHC7.2 million linked to BNC Communications Bureau Limited transactions was traced to a Fidelity Bank account described as the National Security “Coordinator’s Account”.
Donkor, a former Director of Advantage Solutions Limited (ASL), made the disclosure on Thursday, May 14, during cross-examination by defence counsel Samuel Atta Akyea at Criminal Court 3, Special Court 1.
The witness, who was initially arrested, detained, bailed and arraigned as an accused person before the Attorney-General withdrew the charges to enable her to testify for the state, gave evidence on a series of email instructions, bank transfers and SWIFT messages relating to payments made to ISC Holdings International Security Consultants Ltd for the supply of a cyber defence system to National Security.
She confirmed sending multiple email instructions to UMB Bank for transfers from BNC accounts, adding that Exhibits K, L, M, N and P tendered in court represented only some of the communications with the bank. Donkor acknowledged that there were additional emails beyond those already admitted in evidence.
The court admitted into evidence a disputed February 5, 2020 email after the judge ruled it relevant to the payment trail being examined.
Donkor further confirmed that ISC Holdings was the beneficiary of a $150,000 transfer captured in Exhibit 19, and that SWIFT records (Exhibit 20) showed payments for the “Procurement of Cyber-defence system” under Invoice NSC006.
She stated that she could not independently calculate the exchange rate used for a larger $1,000,750 transaction (approximately GH¢9.53 million), explaining that the bank handled the conversion.
Donkor also confirmed that a GH¢7.25 million transfer from BNC accounts to the first accused person was reflected in bank records, with subsequent movements of GHC7.2 million captured in the Fidelity Bank account named the National Security “Coordinator’s Account”.
The presiding judge cautioned that all conclusions would be drawn at the close of the prosecution’s case, stating that a full assessment of the evidence would be made after the prosecution rests its case.
The case has been adjourned to Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:30 am, with further hearings scheduled between May 25 and May 28, 2026, at the Accra High Court.
