AG’s witness counters prosecution narrative, says Adu Boahene and wife’s company was incorporated in 2008

Mildred Donkor, the third prosecution witness, who was initially arrested, detained, bailed and arraigned as an accused person before being withdrawn by the Attorney General to testify for the state, has confirmed under cross-examination that Advantage Solutions Limited was incorporated in 2008. This revelation appears to challenge key aspects of the prosecution’s case in the ongoing trial involving former National Signals Bureau Director-General Kwabena Adu Boahene and others.

The testimony was given on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Criminal Court 3 – Special Court 1 in Accra, during cross-examination by defence counsel Samuel Atta Akyea. The prosecution’s case hinges significantly on Advantage Solutions Limited, which the state alleges was used in 2020 as a conduit to channel misappropriated funds into several related entities, including Vetex Properties Ltd, Vetex Solutions, and BNC Communications Bureau Ltd. However, under cross-examination, Mildred Donkor confirmed that the company was incorporated in 2008. When defence counsel Samuel Atta Akyea directly put it to her that Advantage Solutions Limited was incorporated in 2008, she responded, “Okay.”

The witness also confirmed that the company had employees on a regular payroll who received monthly salaries and pension contributions. She further acknowledged that salaries were paid not only to staff of Advantage Solutions Limited but also to employees of the related companies mentioned in the case. Under further questioning, she admitted processing various payments as part of her duties, including salary transactions involving directors and an accountant, as referenced in an exhibit before the court. She also confirmed that the company made payments to service providers, including PETRA, though she said she was not aware of certain specific vendors referenced by the defence.
The case has been adjourned to May 13, 2026, at 10:00 am.
