Government Hails Zonda Tec’s Investment as Ghana Moves Toward Cleaner Mobility”

Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd has ushered in a new era of automotive innovation with the grand re-opening of its ultra-modern Dzorwulu showroom, unveiling an impressive fleet of next-generation vehicles designed to redefine mobility across the sub-region.
Industry leaders, automobile enthusiasts, government officials, engineers, and long-standing customers filled the state-of-the-art facility on Thursday, signaling the company’s strengthened commitment to driving Ghana toward a more technologically advanced and environmentally conscious future.

Under the theme “The Future in Motion,” Zonda Tec introduced two flagship models that drew widespread attention:
The Tank 700 Plug-in Hybrid Electric SUV (PHEV)
The Souo Motorcycle, built for durability and urban efficiency
The unveiling also symbolized Zonda Tec’s renewed pledge to blend innovation with affordability, making high-performance vehicles accessible to a growing Ghanaian market.

A Vision Born in Dubai, Fulfilled in Accra
Delivering the keynote address, Madam Yang Yang, Chief Executive Officer of Zonda Tec Ghana, reflected on the inspiration that shaped her automotive empire.
“During a visit to Dubai years ago, I saw showrooms that took my breath away. I told my husband I wanted an ultra-modern facility just like that,” she recalled. “Today, I believe I have brought Dubai to Ghana.”
The redesigned Dzorwulu branch now serves as a one-stop hub for customers across Accra, Tema, Kasoa, and beyond — offering tipper trucks, bulldozers, excavators, drilling machinery, and the latest wave of Chinese-engineered SUVs and pickups.
Inside the showroom, visitors explored Zonda Tec’s newest automatic Sino Trucks and the much-anticipated Tank 700, poised to become one of Ghana’s most energy-efficient luxury SUVs.
Hybrid Power Meets Affordability: The Tank 700 Advantage
Madam Yang highlighted the Tank 700’s defining strength — its PHEV technology, which seamlessly switches between electric charging and fuel use.
 “Driving a Tank 700 could cost as low as GHC 700 per month in fuel,” she revealed.
She also shared her personal fuel-saving journey:
Previous monthly fuel cost: GHC 1,800 (Accra–Tema commute)
Fuel cost every 10 days: GHC 11,000
After switching to a hybrid: Costs drastically reduced
“The Tank 700 gives more luxury than a Land Cruiser, yet at a lower running cost,” she emphasized.
15 Years of Growth, 19 Years of Commitment to Ghana
Celebrating major milestones, Madam Yang noted:
19 years of her life spent in Ghana
15 years of Zonda Tec operations
Over 10 new branches opened within the year, including Sunyani
Tarkwa branch under construction
Phase Three of the assembly plant nearing completion
Projected to be the largest in Ghana
With a capacity to assemble 1,000 vehicles monthly
The upcoming Takoradi branch will specialize in heavy mining equipment — a strategic move aligned with Ghana’s expanding extractive sector.
Madam Yang also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Trade for accompanying her to major Chinese automotive giants such as Chery and Great Wall Motors, in efforts to attract increased manufacturing investment into Ghana.
 “China’s advanced supply chain and Ghana’s hardworking youth create the perfect environment for automotive manufacturing and export,” she said.
Government Endorsement: “A Model of Visionary Private Investment”
The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry,Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, commended Zonda Tec for its unwavering dedication to building a robust, technology-driven automotive market in Ghana.
She described the Tank 700 PHEV as “a symbol of Ghana’s forward march into a greener and more efficient automotive future.”

“Let this showroom be a gateway for more Ghanaians to access world-class vehicles assembled with Ghanaian hands and hearts.”
She emphasized that the government is reviewing the Ghana Automotive Development Policy (GADP) to integrate hybrid and electric vehicles — a move expected to improve affordability, boost local assembly, and promote climate sustainability.
The Minister also applauded Zonda Tec for:
Employing over 600 Ghanaians
Training young technicians in modern automotive technologies
Strengthening Ghana–China economic ties
Supporting industrialization under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama
The re-opening of Zonda Tec’s Dzorwulu showroom marks a significant moment for Ghana’s automotive evolution. With cutting-edge hybrid vehicles, expanded assembly capacity, and an environment primed for foreign investment, Zonda Tec is positioning itself as a major force in Africa’s industrial and mobility transformation.
