NPP’s Ashanti Caucus calls for rerun of Council of State elections to be held at the Central Police Station
The Ashanti Caucus of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament has expressed their reservations about the decision to hold the rerun of the Council of State elections at the same venue tainted with chaos.
A statement signed by the Acting Secretary, Vincent Ekow Assafuah called for a change of venue to ensure a peaceful rerun of the Council of State elections.
They are of the view that the elections must be held at the Central Police Station to ensure there is peace.
It will be remembered that the Council of State elections could not come to an end after thugs attacked the venue where the elections were been held.
The EC has since announced that the rerun will take place on February 17, 2025 to choose a council of state member for the Ashanti Region.
