Bawumia Pledges to Unite All Contenders After NPP Primaries to Secure 2028 Victory

Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his commitment to uniting all contenders in the party after the flagbearer primaries to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.

Speaking to delegates on the third day of his “Our Journey Together” tour of the Bono East Region, Dr. Bawumia said unity remains the NPP’s greatest strength and a necessary condition for breaking the eight.

“We need unity to win in 2028. I am a man of unity, and that is why I do not insult anyone,” he told supporters. “I know that if I become flagbearer, I will need everyone on board. If you insult someone, how can you later ask for their support? I promise to bring all contenders together after the primaries so we can unite for victory in 2028.”
Dr. Bawumia, who is contesting the flagbearership alongside four others, noted that his campaign is focused on ideas and policies that will move Ghana forward, rather than personal attacks.

As part of Friday’s itinerary, the Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team visited Kintampo North, Nkoranza North, and is expected to end the day with an engagement in Nkoranza South.
